It is injectable gel and is used as cosmetic “filler” that contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance that is found in the body. HA gives volume and elasticity to the skin. When injected, Belatero gel is designed to plump the skin beneath lines and wrinkles, smoothing them out and making them less noticeable.The Belatero HA filler range offers a variety of dermal filler products designed for different of the face.

The most common areas for Belatero treatment are cheeks, chin and the nasolabial folds (which run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth) and fine lines. According to manufacturer Merz, results can last for 6 - 12 months, at which point the hyaluronic acid is reabsorbed by the body.

Side Effects of Belotero Injectable Gel

The most common side effects of Belotero injectable gel are swelling, redness, pain, bruising and tenderness in and around the injection sites. They typically go away within a week. Although considered safe for most patients, Belotero injections carry a risk of infection, bleeding or allergic reaction. A complication as intravascular injection and skin or eye ischemia is a rare occurrence.
